Seasonal hair loss: what is it and what can be done about it

Does our hair fall out more in the fall? We tell you what seasonal hair loss is and how you can help your hair at this time of the year.

It is likely that, in recent weeks, you have noticed an increase in hair loss and may even have become alarmed. However, at this time of year, this increase in hair loss is usually part of a natural process and should not be a cause for concern. Today, we tell you what seasonal hair loss is, how to act and how to differentiate it from other types of hair loss.

What is seasonal hair loss?

Every day we lose between 50 and 150 hairs. This is a natural process that our body carries out continuously to regenerate our hair. We must understand that this loss does not occur all over at the same time, but rather that each hair follows its growth process independently. With healthy hair, we always have hair at different phases of the process (85%-90% in the growth phase, 1% in the transition phase and 10-15% in the fall phase).

With the arrival of the fall, the percentage of hair in the loss phase can increase due to evolutionary factors and external factors (excessive summer sun, stress from returning to the routine...). However, this change should not affect the hair density. In we detect lower density, reduced hair thickness or changes to the scalp, we should consult a specialist.

What can I do about seasonal hair loss?

As we have mentioned already, seasonal hair loss should not cause alarm, since the hair that falls out will grow back. However, we can help our hair during this time by modifying our hair care routine and adopting healthy habits that favor the regeneration process.

Biokera Natura's specific hair loss treatment is especially suitable for treating hair at time of year, providing nutrients that stimulate hair regeneration.
